Don’t Cut the Cord! Let It Pulse and Fortify: A Physiologic Approach to Training Birth Doulas about Postpartum Work with Jackie Kelleher, Susan Martensen

Birth (and Postpartum) Doula Trainers will gain insight to the ways they can train birth doulas to provide meaningful, practical postpartum support through effective use of their prenatal and postpartum visits. Sometimes birth doulas feel ineffective in their ability to support the transition of their clients from birth into the postpartum fourth trimester. They know it is important, but the birth doula’s role has ended. This session offers skills and strategies that will create a more positive postpartum experience for birthing families and their doulas, as well.
