Thinking Outside the Bottle: Strategic Ways to Bridge the Gap Between Birth and Breastfeeding with Tonya N. Daniel

A large percentage of mothers still have lower rates of breastfeeding initiation and duration, and their babies have worse outcomes.  In this session, we’ll explore solutions to this problem through the lens of social determinants.  Intersecting qualitative research with the real-life concerns that families of colors face, we’ll hear their own words about what they feel they need and incorporate lessons learned into our own practices as birth professionals to give families the empowering experiences they desire and deserve.
